Please mom don't send me to girl scout camp!
This weekend was draining. We went to Girl Scout Camp. Had a blast. 24 lil girls wanting to "mother" baby Thumper. Yes she went to camp with us. Daddy didn't think he could survive a whole weekend alone with her. That and one of my leaders wanted to have a weekend sleep over with Thumper.
One of the lil girls got sick on Friday night...in her sleep. As in, she didn't wake anyone up. As in, she slept in her sleeping bag filled with regurgitation. Saturday her lips turned blue.
Who the hell sends their child to camp an hour and a half from home and doesn't answer the phone that they gave the leader to call for emergencies?? They do. I left 5 messages! They didn't call back. Never mind she vomited in her sleep, never mind her lips turned blue. NO ANSWER. NO RETURN CALL!
Finally got a hold of the grandmother who got a hold of the parents. They couldn't pick her up. My mom had to drive her home. The dad claimed he took her to urgent care. There was nothing wrong with her. The doctor told the dad the blue lips were from lack of oxygen. NO doubt! Her mom said it was probably just poor lighting in the cabin.
Oye. Will post a picture of this really wicked bridge the girls went on when I get mom's camera. The bridge was about 5 feet off of water. A beaver built a dam under the bridge. The bridge was about 18 inches wide. With no rails to hold onto. We crossed it.
I now need a vacation.

Ignorance drives me crazy
People think that February 28 must mean March 7 or something. PIA placed a cookie order and guess what? THERE ARE NO MORE COOKIES!! I have a "leader" that thinks she can turn in her money on March 7 instead of February 28 because she was out of town. The check for $9551.52 is going to bounce tomorrow if the 3 parents that have not paid yet do not pay. What the hell is wrong with people now a days? You took the damn cookies and collected the money PAY UP!! It is not my fault you spent the money, or was out of town. I paid mine on time people!!
Superdaddy decided to jump off the deep end and got another quad on Ebay. He is supposed to pick it up this weekend or next. Then his friend that used to drive at the same company as he did called today and is selling his quad. You guessed it. We have to come up with $395 for the one off of ebay and another $500 from his friend. Plus the down payment for the 5 acres of land that has to be paid by March 15 (another $500). The money tree we planted when we moved into the house still has not sprouted at our house (poor soil I'm guessing seeing how we are drowning in rain lately).
I wish the IRS would just look at our return and tell us how much PIA gets and how much we are not getting back that way we could just juggle a little bit. Money stresses me out to no end.

Maturity & Camp...Nice Combo.
So last weekend 2 moms and I took our older 10 girl scouts to weekend camp. We had a great time. Unbeknownst to myself though, the 4th and 5th graders had "the talk" at school. for the 60 minute drive, we heard talks about starting their cycle and maxi pads. Miss J asked me to take her shopping to buy the pads just in case she needed them at school. I know some girls start early, but she will only be 10. In the girl scout spirit (be prepared) we went shopping and got pads and pantie liners. Believe it or not, she wore one all weekend I believe by the amount out of the package. Sheesh it is starting already. Just in case.
My co-worker and I discussed this whole maturity issue. Her daughter will be 12 and well, she is grossed out. Co-worker advised daughter to start using pantie liner just in case and daughter had a total melt down. She was not going to use that stuff it was nasty. Poor thing is really in for a rude awakening.

Cannot get much worse
Go ahead and laugh. I guess if I cannot laugh about it, I will cry. Today on my way to work I ran out of gas. Never mind Superdaddy doesn't get paid until tomorrow (if OO sends his check in the mail) other wise we have no cash until Tuesday. I guess when the gas light comes on, it means gas NOW not after work. Top it off...Halloween dance with 25 giggling girl scouts is tonight.
Funny part, same place just on opposite sides of the light that my aunt ran out of gas on Monday.
This week sure has been sucky.

Just gettin by
Sheesh where has the time gone. Things have been quiet around our house lately. Superdaddy was gone for just about 10 days due to his error in calculating his time and home 5 days due to G.M. playing catch-up from the strike.
Scouts has started up again seeing how our elementary school hosts our troop, we are trying to get into the swing of things. Ya know, 21 screaming girls for 1 1/2 hours on a Friday evening. Yikes.
The girls have been doing Liturgical dance at church on Monday's all summer. It carried over into the Monday night program. The teacher that was teaching it is still there. The assistant teacher (who coincidentally is my assistant girl scout leader) decided she cannot devote to dance 100%. She would rather go to the adult group because the teacher depended on her too much. What the heck? I depend on her for g.s. too ya know. So low and behold, supermommy who is desperately 25+ lbs over weight taught dance last night and is now paying for it today. Sheesh.
One thing that has been bothering me is something Miss M said on Friday. She was wondering where scouts was going to be. I told her Miss J's school. She was flabbergasted when we pulled up to the old school (the current one). She was very upset that Miss J didn't have to switch schools like they did. How unfair it was and such. That ripped at my heart. My mom took the girls to our city's harvest festival on Saturday while I was working some much needed overtime at work. We haven't had OT in like 5 years or so. I will post a picture of the girls with "the great" pumpkin later today. Hope all is well in "Blog land".

Proud of you Bubba
Where to begin. Bubba will be 14 in a little over 2 weeks. Damn that makes me feel old. He has been able to attend 3 summer camps this year with no help from sperm donor. The first was for Youth Leader skills. To help him become more of a leader instead of a follower. The second was for eagle scout specific classes. The third was this week for his troop camping. He has completed his final "eagle required" merit badge. Now all he needs to do is go up a rank (which he is really close to right now) and do an eagle project to benefit the good of someone else.
On family night, my son was asked to come back this week as a CIT. Basically grunt work. He will work his tail off for free as a "councilor in training". He gets to live in "Tent City" something he has wanted since forever; well since as long as I can remember. So this week he embarks on his 4th week of summer camp. Glad this week doesn't cost anything that is for sure.
DQ called Saturday. Apparently her cousin was getting married and she needed us to baby sit. Kills me I tell ya. So on her weekend, the girls came over. Them girls were so disappointed that I didn't take them to family night. DQ said NO they cannot go. We took them fishing on Sunday when we dropped Bubba off. So it looks like potentially, we will have the girls for the next 3 weekends if DQ lets them go on vacation with me and the kids (superdaddy has to work) to South Dakota to see "the faces on the mountain". We will have to see as she told the girls they could go to family night and wouldn't let them. Personally that is what I see happening again. Who knows, maybe I will take them across state lines and leave their sassy mouth's out west. Just kidding. Stay tuned for fishing pictures later today.

Now what did I do?
So now I feel absolutely terrible.
There is this girl in girl scouts with me. She told me last week or so that their family is broke and probably going to be moving soon. Dad is now a truck driver too and mom doesn't work. At the meeting, she wasn't wearing socks or anything. She is never clean and point blank, she is a "homely" child. Her mom is really nice. Her brother and sisters seem to run the hood taking care of themselves. Last week we got walloped with snow here and well, her little sister was outside in jeans and tank top. No coat, no boots. So why do I feel terrible?
They have girl scout cookies to the tune of $728. The money is due Thursday. Mom didn't answer the phone any of the bazillion times I called. I show up unannounced, no answer. I am terrified that our troop will have to pay the $728 and wait until the girl scouts go after mom for the money. That is like all of our profit.
I called mom today from work (shows up hospital on caller ID). She answered. She was shocked that it was me on the other end of the phone. She hasn't delivered all the cookies yet because she was in the hospital having a miscarriage.
I feel like a damn bill collector that I despise so much myself.
I guess we will see what happens when I go by there tonight.

Thank God for School
The bitter cold has left my children with cabin fever. 2 days of no school has driven me up a wall. Yesterday was a blessing to have them no school. Yesterday was Girl Scout Cookie pick up. We had to pick up 160 cases of cookies. Yep I put them to work hauling cookies around (even with child labor laws).
Hope you all are surviving the Artic Freeze. Stay warm!

Girl Scout Cookies for Everyone!
Geeze! Where has the time gone? It certainly does not seem like it has been that long since I been on here. Oh yeah, I remember where the time has gone...Getting my stuff together for turning in the cookie order. Never enough time in a day.
Our troop managed to do fairly well with the cookie order much to my surprise. See they upped the cookie price this year. Well in case ya didn't know, the economy in MI sucks! We seem to have a smaller group this year as well so that didn't help very much. Hope things with everyone are well.
This weekend will be quiet around here. Getting rid of superdaddy and bubba and my mom for the whole weekend. What in the world will I do with myself?

Single parenting sucks!
Another long night with cranky kids. Last night had to be the worst night ever for the kids. None of them wanted to go to bed, or get a shower, or eat dinner, or be at our house. I have to say that last night was tough. I know that the kids were very tired and cranky, but when they flat out tell you I don't want to be with you I want my daddy/mom is another. I know this is a change of routine for them and it SUCKS!!
Anyways, he is supposed to be home tomorrow sometime. Hopefully it will not be too late when he gets home that way he can see the kids and spend time with them. First he goes East, then comes back West, then goes back East Ugggg.
Busy with Halloween stuff this week as well. Have a Girl Scout party tonight, school party tomorrow, church party Saturday. The kids will be loaded with sugar soon enough.
Until next time.....

Still going strong
Well he is still on the East Coast. Going from Maryland to New Jersey. Today he is going from New Jersey to Ohio. He may not make it all the way there today.
Who knows.
All I know is that I have to get ready for Girl Scouts and get him packed for Boy Scouts. The troop is going camping this weekend. We are having our first meeting and should have a blast with the new kids.
After the meeting, we are going to my friends house to visit for the weekend. Should be fun. 6 kids running around a farm. HAHA!!!
Still lonely. Hope it will get easier soon enough. HHHUUMMMPPPPPHHHH!!!!!
