Joy of work

Superdaddy's truck died this morning.

We only have one vehicle right now. Took my car in to get the gas tank leak fixed and somehow, the brake line got punctured. Sigh. More money out the window. Drove my car all weekend with a Brick for a break pedal. Took it back to same shop.

Meanwhile, Superdaddy went to leave for work today. His truck wouldn't start. Looks like the engine is dying in the semi. Looks like it needs a major "overhaul". He will not be working at all this week. On the heals of the whole child support thing and the holiday's coming up really fast...THIS SUCKS!!

If the wheels don't move, the pennies don't add up to any size paycheck. Owner Operator told him he wasn't gonna be driving anywhere this week so the engine could get worked on. Good news is this, he can leave to go up hunting on Thursday instead of midnight on Friday.

Gonna be a long week.

All in a days work

So I cannot find the cable for the camera. I will have to look in the van when I get home to show you my new toy. Superdad's truck broke down at about 3pm yesterday. Something with the tensioner pulley and belt. Somehow they managed to track down the part and get it fixed. After "dispatch" agreed to pay for the repair for the owner operator (OO), the repair shop ordered the part, expressed it to them (sent a driver) from 2.5 hours away. The truck should have taken 6 hours from start to finish. It was finally done around midnight. "Dispatch" told Superdaddy better hope you can sleep in the truck we are not authorizing payment for repairs. When the truck is in the repair bay, no customers allowed. In other wards, he was hosed. He called OO at 1am and went off. Needless to say, he finally got to sleep 26 hours later in the truck. Somehow OO got dispatch to agree to pay for part of it and he used his credit card or something to pay for the rest. If Superdaddy was a company driver, he would still be without a truck until maintenance came in at 7:00 am.

It appears for the next two weeks, he will only get half a check. Ya can't tell me it takes 5 days to go from Port Huron Michigan to Kansas City only once. That happened 2 weeks in a row. Well he was supposed to deliver on Saturday AM according to his little GPS computer thingie. He got there Saturday AM only to find out PH was not working. He delivered instead on Monday leaving him last week with only one trip. Now with the truck breaking down, he will only get the one trip unless they find something else to go out for him.

Quiet weekend?

For someone who doesn't have any money and is always on the rampage about money and back support, someone is going on vacation during Superdaddy's weekend. Un-freaking believable. Lets hope when they do come back over, they don't have head pets again. Supposedly, they got the cooties from my children. The girls however, told a story of how their big brother and sister had it and Miss S as well. Well we haven't seen Miss S since March and before that was almost 2 years.

Superdaddy will hopefully be home this weekend and we can get stuff done. His work truck needs to go to the shop again for the air again. Hopefully they will fix it so his poor hot sweaty self will chill out. His dispatch is messing around with his load ending times this week. They have been set pretty much to the same schedule all along and this week he might run out of drive time to make it back home due to them switching it after he is rolling.

Goings on

I cannot believe my friends little brother graduated high school. We went to his graduation party this weekend. Seems like just yesterday T and D and I were packing up his diaper bag and going to the park. Makes me feel old.

Next week, Bubba will be at scout camp for the week. We plan on going to see him on family night but will have to see.

Superdaddy still has not heard about the job in the sticks. He is less than thrilled about his current situation. In our neck of the woods, the weather has been sort of rainy but hot and humid. His truck has been in to get the air fixed 9 times in the last year. Guess what? OO Took it to a different shop and they fixed it. Only it blows out warm air now instead of no air at all. He has complained about it so much I think OO is tired of hearing about it.

Anyone know of a remedy for TMJ? My jaw is still locked up. It has been locked for almost 9 months or so only unlocking on occasion. It really sucks that I cannot eat a darn peach or apple unless I cut it up. Oh yeah and forget corn on the cob.

Going's on

The "bone" yard still needs some work. Quite a bit of work actually. Yesterday was not a good day to do yard work. It poured all day. In fact, I went to scout camp with Miss J's school yesterday in the rain. I almost got "lunch time detention" yesterday for playing in the mud puddles. Perhaps this weekend I will be able to do some more yard work. I need a long weekend vacation.

Superdaddy's run got cancelled this week again. Sigh. I cannot wait for all of the labor disputes to end so Superdaddy can get a full paycheck again. The money tree in our yard still has not sprouted despite all of the rain. Must be poor soil or something.

He is home YEAH!

Paycheck Boo! The strike happening has brought him home early. That means half a paycheck.

Maybe today he will fix the light switches or the light fixtures. I have a "honey do" list that is almost 12 inches long.

Another strike :(

His run is affected yet again by striking workers. Well it is not officially affected yet, it will be in the near future. The plant he delivers for walked out today apparently.

I think one of the hardest things I am having to cope with currently is not enough time. Superdaddy is home on the weekends most weekends and well I have to share him with the kids and errands and such. It sucks. This weekend he had to run up north Friday and come home Saturday evening. My Saturday evening was spent a the skating rink with my girl scout troop. We were like breezes passing in the night. Sunday we had house chores and outdoor chores to do and then just like that he was gone again.

I hate the fact that there are things that need to be done around the house and he is not around to help out. Like the hall light switch needs to be replaced, the bedroom light fixtures need to be replaced, the kitchen ceiling fan, the screen door. Sheesh I guess it sounds like our home is falling apart. I guess I should enroll in the Home depo do it "herself" classes.

I have spent quite a lot of time on the subject of PIA lately. Sorry you guys have heard so much about her. I cannot believe I have allowed her to bring out a whole wrath of anger in myself. We have not seen the girls since March when I took the girl scouts to camp. It has been 4 weeks since I seen them, 6 weeks since Superdaddy seen them. I have a feeling since his mother is talking to PIA again, the visits will get spaced further and further apart until the courts have to step in again. Maybe since she got the tax refund, she will have enough money to buy their love for a few weeks and she will lay off.

It's Not His Job Anymore!!

Superdaddy is obviously a truck driver. American Axel is on strike for about a week now. My uncle works there. They supply GM with a lot of parts. Superdaddy delivers to GM. You see where this is going. They cancelled his load for tomorrow which means he came home last night. YEAH!!. They want to send him to Kansas City today. If they send him out he will not be home this weekend :(

PIA really is something else. Get this. In Michigan we got a pretty significant snow storm dumping 5 inches in our neck of the woods. Nothing compared to St. Louis' 10 inches. She had the balls to call Superdaddy yesterday. She wanted to know if he was in town. Why you ask? She needed her snow shoveled. She has 4 children (17 year old boy, 15 year old girl, 9 year old girl, 6 year old girl). What is wrong with them helping shovel? First born has a syndrome that if he over exerts himself, he will have heart problems. What is over exertion? Playing basketball? He does. He plays for the local parks and recreation, the y and the school. Why can't he shovel snow? What about 2nd born? She is a princess who expects everyone to take care of her. She refuses to help her mom. I guess my point is, IT IS NOT HIS JOB TO TAKE CARE OF HER ANYMORE!! THEY ARE DIVORCED!!

Uggg

Well it has been a week and a half superdaddy resigned and started working for the OO. Things are going pretty well I guess. Better than I had thought it would be. The truck he has now has only broken down on him once while on the road and he almost got stuck 2 times due to dead battery. OO fixed the batteries and knew about the other problem and had it ready to go into the shop this weekend to get fixed. Needless to say, superdaddy almost didn't make it home this weekend due to the fact that his truck broke down in Missouri. I was bummed out to find this out. We have the girls this weekend, and he has a boyscout thing this weekend. I would have been so screwed.

My hubby had a weird encounter with a "Lot Lizard". He was on his way to drop his load off and stopped at a rest area to rest a little. After crawling in back and dozing off, he was awakened by a tapping on the window. There was a lady there. He cracked the window and asked what? She wanted to come in to ummm help him out. She started lifting her shirt right out in the open. He told her to MOVE ON and Get away from his truck. She then went to the next truck. I guess truckers must be good money to work for. Unfortunately, my trucker is married and he carries no cash...
I was laughing so hard when he told me this. Was pretty funny.

Will meet up with him later after conferences tonight. Got to keep the hookers away.....Quickie a day keeps the hookers away.

Hot chicks and truckers

Funny how his daily run brings him right by our home.

I didn't see him until after I took the girls to their respective places. I was driving to work on my normal route, and low and behold what do I see??? His company's truck a few cars in front of me. I called him and asked what trailer number he had and it was him.

I proceeded to tease him about hot chicks flashing truckers while on the road. Needless to say, it was rush hour traffic and he got thru the light before I did.

It sure was nice to see him tonight when I got home even if it was only for about 30 minutes. I miss him so much.

HIP HIP HORRAY!!!

Looks like someone upstairs in heaven heard my prayers (or tears). Hubby dearest got great news!!!!

Looks like his dispatcher needs to fill some dedicated runs for the next few weeks. Well one week at least. Looks like for the next week or so he will be home nightly. GREAT NEWS!!!

I haven't told the kids yet though just in case. I guess someone who normally does this run is having some sort of procedure or something so he is unable to work at least for a week (maybe longer will have to see).

I am just grinning from ear to ear!!

Today sucks! Aside from having the kids this weekend and Halloween stuff going on, he was supposed to be home sometime tonight. I told the kids he would be there tonight. Well Jersey is just too far away...Almost a whole day away and he just got there :(

Looks like he will miss the school Halloween dance tonight and possibly the church party tomorrow. I would take coming home at 3am is better than not coming home at all tonight. This really sucks!!

A Wife's Worries

Friday was pretty eventful. It was a long wait and come to find out, the breaks were bad so they pulled him in to change the breaks....Also needed new tires. Only one had a huge chunks of rubber missing. And I'm not supposed to worry while he is in the mountains, hauling 42,000 pounds of stuff with bad breaks and tires through the mountains. Ugh, remind me to ask him if his job offers life insurance.

Other than the worries of not making it home Friday, we had a wonderfully uneventful weekend with lots of together time. We did have all the kids for part of the day and it certainly was nice to visit.

On another note...it amazes me that Virginia needs so much from here. He is off to Virginia again. Different place in Virginia, but never-the-less Virginia. That is how the week started last week as well. We will see where this week's journey will take my lonely truck driver...

This weekend was good. Went to a friends house and had a decent weekend. Could not get home fast enough yesterday though...couldn't wait to see him. When we finally got home, we had to go get Halloween costumes for the kids. FUN...FUN...

We got to go see his truck last night before it was too dark. Not as bad as I thought, not as cozy as home...

Slept like a baby last night. God do I miss him already.......

Well, he is off to Maryland this evening and I am off to bed. Definitely looking forward to this weekend. Though he will be camping with scouts, I will get to see him. Though he will be home, again, we will be apart. Ugggg.....Sure hope it gets easier.

And He's Rolling

He made it safely to Alabama. Yesterday to Tennessee and finally finished his day in Ohio. Today he will finish his drive from yesterday in Pennsylvania. We will see where he goes this afternoon.

Bubba had a football game yesterday. They played hard; they lost 30 to 24. Kind of sucks.

Certainly is a different world being a single parent again and being married on the weekend. I know people do it all the time; I was one of them in the past. Feels funny to be one again.

Yesterday was another fabulous day at church with the kids. I talked to him very briefly last night on our way home from church. He still wasn't all the way there yet. He will call me back when he gets there. He did call, while I was in the shower, he made it. He cannot locate the phone charger; his battery is going dead. Perhaps he will buy a new one. Perhaps it will be a really quiet lonely week. We will see what the rest of the week will hold.

D....Day!!!

Today is D...Day. Tomorrow was supposed to be D. Day. Today they called and told him "Your off to Nashville" This weekend was supposed to be "Our Time" instead it was his "other wife's" time. Time to go off roading. Nashville bound turned into Decatur bound. Our time goes right out the window :( Hope it isn't this hard all the time. Hummmppphhhh
