RIP Mr. G

Last night, before I left work, we got update on our transplant advocate and patient Mr. G. Mr. G was not doing well at all. Last night, my heart was very heavy as I put the children to bed. I prayed to God and to my dad to find Mr. G's beloved wife and for them to grab Mr. G by the hand and show him the way to eternal life.

Today when I came to work, I learned Mr. G passed away last night. His liver out lasted his body.

Mr. G; you left some pretty large shoes to fill here on earth. You took life by the horns after your surgery and by golly you ran with it. You had been pretty sick here the last few years; a few times we thought you were not going to make it home and you proved us wrong and went home to your beautiful daughter. We joked you were like a cat with 9 lives. Please know, you are one of a kind. You will be missed by many who never met you and many who love you.

God speed to your family and everyone who mourns for your earthly departure. Rejoice for you Heavenly arrival.

Thank you dad and Mrs. G for showing Mr. G the way home.

Heartache

Tornado Levels Boy Scout Camp In Iowa

Two people are dead in northern Kansas after tornadoes cut a diagonal path across the state Wednesday night, authorities said.

A spokeswoman for the Kansas Adjutant General's Department said one victim was found in a yard in the town of Chapman. The other was found outside a mobile home in the Jackson County town of Soldier.

The most extensive damage from the tornado outbreak appears to be in Chapman.
A half-mile-wide tornado tore through the town, destroying more than 60 homes and numerous businesses. All three schools were damaged.

A tornado also hit the campus of Kansas State University in Manhattan, damaging buildings and tossing cars.

No injuries were reported there.

In Blencoe, Iowa, a tornado that ripped through a Boy Scout camp in western Iowa added to the weather crisis in a state hit by flooding in the east.

At least four people were killed Wednesday evening when the powerful twister struck the 1,800-acre camp where 93 boys and 25 staff members were attending a weeklong leadership training camp.

More than 40 people were hurt.

A Boy Scout official said the twister destroyed all the buildings and tents and most of the trees. Rescuers dug through piles of debris to reach trapped victims, some of them sheltering under tables.

A rescue official said everyone at the camp has been accounted for.
The National Weather Service issued two warnings minutes before the tornado hit, but it's not clear if the camp had sirens.

Tornadoes also touched down in southern Minnesota and eastern Nebraska.

Bubba is scheduled to to to "Leadership training" next week in our state. My heart is broken for the families of these 'best of the best' boy scouts. Dear Lord please be with their families during this very difficult time.

Happy birthday old man!

Today you would be 53. Dang you are getting old. The kids and I will sing you happy birthday like we do every year. I don't know if we will make it to the cemetery or not because it is supposed to be rainy. For sure father's day of course. I sure do miss you more than words can every explain.

It is hard to believe in September will be the beginning of 8 years since you have gone to Heaven. Just last week, you welcomed H's mom to heaven. She is sorely missed by her family as well. Give her a hug and tell her I am sorry I wasn't there to say good bye.
Please keep watch over my friend M's unborn baby. They are having a rough go this time around. Please keep watch over our unborn baby as well. Keep him/her healthy and strong.

I LOVE YOU! and I MISS YOU SO MUCH!

RIP Friend's Mom

One of my high school best friends' mother passed away this morning. I remember growing up trying to hook her mom and my dad up. I am sitting here at work bawling my eyes out. I know that mom is not in pain anymore and lets face it...mom won her fight with cancer. I know my friend and her mother had their differences all of their life but I know friend was with her mom when she made the transition.

Hugs to friend and her family. RIP Mom! You will be missed by many.

Merry Christmas!!

This was our tree this year. Most of the decorations were stuff the kids made.

This is what was found under our tree this year!!
Maybe not under the tree, but in it.

This year, the holiday's brought heartache for some people. My brother's friend and her family lost a loved one. Her step-dad suffered a devastating stroke a few days before Christmas and yesterday, Dec 26 he passed away. Today is her birthday. Double whammy if you ask me. RIP friend's step-dad you will be missed by many and loved by more.
I hope the holiday brought your family joy. I know it brought our family joy. Will share a funny about the holiday tomorrow. I must get back to work today.

Recapping the weekend

Do I ever need a vacation. This weekend was one that I have been dreading. I have been threatening the girls to go clean their room with trash bags for like ever. This weekend, I followed through and did it. The 5 girls share one giant room. We have a bungalow and they have the entire upstairs. I spend about 5 hours up there on Saturday between running to get Bubba from BS camp to go to home coming dance and picking Superdaddy up at work, I ran out of time.

You want to know what lazy girls I have? They were too lazy to put clean clothes in the dressers. They claimed the drawers were full of clothes that fit and didn't fit. The drawers were EMPTY!! Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. Now I have like 100 loads of laundry to do because of the dog hair. Ugg.

Sunday was spent cleaning the toy boxes out. Another weekend project. Never the less, supermom prevailed and came out like 6 trash bags less and 6 trash bags of toys to donate. Yeah me. Unfortunately, we still have about 3 hours of work left to do. Have to sort through some books and one more pile of toys and then the room will be up to par.

Today will be a very hard day for Miss J. Today is her father's and grandmother's birthday. Both are deceased. RIP Miss J's dad and MIL. We will try to get to the cemetery this weekend or next depending on what happens. Hope your weekend was as productive as mine was/wasn't.

Damn laundry still hasn't figured out how to do itself Hummppphhh!!

When parents talk...listen

6 years ago today, you were living with grandma and I was at work. Grandma called me to tell me to get to Troy B. Hospital as they rushed you there because you passed out. When we got to the hospital, they ushered us into this little room where grandma and grandpa were waiting. 6 years ago I held your hand, kissed you good bye, smoothed down your hair and cried. 6 years ago, you got to see your children together. All of us at once. Your eyes were closed up until that point.
I have been missing you terribly lately and I am not quite sure why. Perhaps it was cleaning out the garage at moms. Seeing the J there. Perhaps it is the talk of selling it? Bubba wants to work on that car and complete it. I don't know what my brother is going to do with it. Ya know yesterday at the party when the kids got silly string onto the car that dad was really upset. When I was helping him wipe it off, he had made a comment "at least it isn't on the Henry J." Honestly, I really don't want him to have any part of your car. Does that make me a bad person?
Yesterday I found your pictures and scanned them into the computer. The stupid scanner was making me really angry. I finally got it to work before I got a shower. Like I said, I sure do miss you a lot. I know you were there holding my hand and heart yesterday as I turned the computer off and got a shower. When I came out, I seen your handy work and it made me miss you more. Thank you for printing out the stuff on the printer. Gave me the chills though.
Dog the bou.nty hunter, I relate to you. I was flipping through the channels last night and stopped to watch Dog. It was an episode where he went through memory lane and eventually to the cemetery where his own dad was buried. Both him and I cried over missing our dad. Thank you dad for letting my tears come last night. I know it was long overdue.
6 years ago today, God took my father by the hand and led him towards the beautiful pearly gates of heaven. RIP dad. I miss you and love you more and more everyday. I do listen.

Dropping like flys

I am so very sorry coworker for your family's loss.

A co-worker has lost a beloved BIL. He was so young and seemed to have suffered a bit at the end. May the Lord's peace envelop and hold your family during this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers today and everyday.

Goodbye my friends mom

I just found out about a death that is really hard to swallow. A childhood friend of mine her mother died last week. I found out about it last night and I totally missed the service. I guess the hard part about it all is that she wasn't very close to her mom. Her dad either for that matter. Her mom was sick for as long as I could remember. Some days, her mom was better than others depending on her medication. We used to curse her mom when she was off her meds. Her mom was one of the sweetest ladies around when she was on her meds. Though I have lost touch with my friend over the last 7 years or so, I think about her often and drive by her house more often. She is in my thoughts as is her dad. May her mom rest in peace and be my friends angel from above watching over her as she begins this difficult journey without her beloved mother. My friend, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Happy Summer Solstice to all

Just thought I would wish everyone a Happy Summer Solstice to everyone out there who celebrates and who doesn't. This is the longest day of sunlight in the northern hemisphere.

The difference in 10 years......
10 years ago today was a Saturday, it was my first wedding. Since that day, my ex-hubby is dead, his mom is dead, my aunt who I got married in her yard is dead, my other aunt is dead, his grandma and grandpa are dead, my father, his wife, my grandma's cousin they are all dead. I have a picture in my first wedding album that has me and many angel's in it. They have since gone to heaven or Mt. Olive as my ex would have claimed.

Wow 10 years already.

Amen

A patient at a University of Michigan Health System hospital whose double-lung transplant operation was stopped after a plane carrying donor organs crashed into Lake Michigan, killing six members of a Survival Flight team, has received a second set of lungs, doctors announced Friday.

http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/13467261/detail.html

Though I do not know the transplant team, I have felt their pain. Our team has felt their pain. It could have been our guys on that plane. We use the same place to fly out of. Our guys knew their guys. Very humbling. You can cut the air with a knife that is how tense it was here. I am overjoyed with hearing the recipient got his miracle.

Life is too short.

A moment of silence please

Please take a moment out of your busy life and acknowledge a tragedy. Please pray for the families and coworkers of those involved.

Tragic...Simply Tragic.

These people died trying to save another.

Coast Guard: No Survivors In Jet Crash
University Of Michigan Transplant Team Were On Board Jet

To the angels on that flight may you rest in peace and God Bless! You will be missed.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Wow, the difference in 7 years. It has been 7 years since I have said Happy Birthday to you in person. Things have been moving along just swimmingly in our lives. The kids and I miss you so very much. Since you have become an angel, so many others have passed...my first hubby, his mom, you wife, almost fil.

I miss you so much. I lay awake some nights with regret. Regret that I didn't do many things with you, that we didn't spend enough time together; that the kids didn't get to know you as well as they should have.

So many things have gone unspoken. So many things are said now only in prayer.

Bubba is doing well in school. You would be proud of him. He wants to take auto mechanics in high school. Next year he will be in high school. Damn that makes me feel old. Only 4 short more years and then college. Eeek. He really wants your Corvette. If not yours from grandma, he wants to get one like yours. I told him dream on he needs a junker first. I think he is going to be a gear head like you. He is always wrenching on something every chance he gets. Lately has been ATVs in the back yard. He helps take them apart and does not put them back together right away. Imagine that. He seems to want a motorcycle too. Definitely a boy after your own heart.

Miss J, well she is doing ok. The other day she told me that she saw your dog and insisted it was yours. I didn't have the heart to tell her your dogs died before you did. She is finally going to get extra help with reading from the school. I get so frustrated with homework time. She tries, but she just doesn't get it. I remember the time you got frustrated with Jeffrey and shoved a peanut butter and jelly in his face because he just didn't get it. I haven't done that, but I have sent her to bed before homework was done because I lost my patience. She found your AA book in our basement the other day and was going to "read grandpa's book" for a book report. Yeah ok. She is going to do a dance class at church coming up. I guess it is a spiritual dance of sorts.

Chicky: You have never seen Chicky except from heaven. She is a spitting image of me. She sees your pictures and we talk about you often. She wanted a 4 wheeler for Xmas. Imagine that. Starting out young. She always can be caught with a screwdriver trying to take something apart.

The other girls, well, we talk about you and they ask about you and go to the cemetery with us. They haven't been exposed to dying and such. They don't understand. At church, they always pray that you watch over us and keep us safe. Miss G wishes that she was able to meet you and call you grandpa. Miss M well, she just kind of floats around with the rest of the kids. They do miss getting to know you. You would be proud of the kids regardless.

She lost out on you. We have lost out on having you see the kids, giving me away (mom did that though) .

Brother is in N.C. Boy is that a mess. He flew the coup and got the heck out of Dodge just like you always wanted to. He seems to be holding his own. We miss him very much. We are talking about moving to the mountains. Not Alabama as you wanted to go to, but out of here that is for sure.

I guess what it boils down to is this... I MISS YOU! Happy birthday Old Man! The Big 52.

A Hell of a weekend

Where do I begin? This weekend was a much needed R&R weekend. We went up north camping with the kids. For the first time in almost 13 years, Superdaddy and I had a tent all to our selves. Chicky and Miss M slept in their own tent as did Miss G and Miss J. Boy oh boy does that make me feel old.

My MIL is really a joke. She is all about her kids not talking to one another. She stirs the pot like a wicked witch with her brew. She has one of my step-daughters Miss S really messed up in the head I am afraid. Miss S stays with MIL unfortunately. Anyways, she screwed with superdaddy's head when he was growing up. She told him, his dad who was raising him really wasn't his dad and some other guy was. Then she claimed she never told him that. Blah, blah. Long story short...supposed dad (paternity test proved otherwise) passed away Saturday. We were up north and got a call from "dads" girlfriend to let suepraddy know. Monday, MIL calls me after not having a phone call for over a year and a half to tell me to tell superdaddy that his dad passed away. Then she called back asking me how he took the "news". I think she is trying to weasel her way back into our lives. Got to squash that shit quick.

R.I.P. Almost Father in Law. You will be missed.

My FIL used one of our cars this weekend as it was just going to sit in our driveway. Well remember back when my brother in law hit my friend's car and small claims court made him pay for damages? Well when my FIL had the car, he went to BIL's house to pick up a few things. My car has been KEYED!! Like major. Like unforgivable. I honestly thought my superdaddy was going to go over there and go "postal" on his brother and SIL. I don't think BIL did it, I think his wife did. She is evil and hateful. I mean we don't have new cars. Hell they both have over 150,000 miles on them. But damn.

Now you see. DRAMA!!!

Aside from that, our weekend was nice. I will share pics as soon as I can find the camera :)

Happy Birthday Miss J!!

So yesterday was Miss J's birthday. I spent most of the day wiping away the tears from her pretty blue eyes. She is sad because she cannot see her dad. Her dad is in heaven already. She turned the big 9. Holy Smokes!! Where has the time gone?

This is her with messy hair at my brothers going away party last year. She is growing up too fast. Figures the easiest labor is the most difficult child so far.

She is driving me nuts with school. She hasn't had homework in almost 3 weeks. Well the teacher sent a letter home that indicated she has 48 missing assignments and does not return homework?!?!? WTF? My point exactly. So now, I have all her work (a damn book). And of course, I feel like a slave driver making her sit every single day after school and do her work from the time I get home until the time she goes to bed. If she had done the darn work from the beginning, it would have been like 1 hour a night that is all.

Argggggg!!!!!!!!

Thought this was kind of cool!

Almost 17 years ago she was smitten

This time of year sucks. It sucks bad.

This time 16 years ago there should have been a baby; a boy. Something is definitely off lately; perhaps all the time alone, perhaps Chicky turning 3, perhaps the talk of another baby in the future. Whatever the case may be, I miss that baby. I have been dreaming about him. He would be 16 this year; learning to drive. Superdaddy and I are back together today because of him. Because of a misunderstanding from a friend of ours about the said baby, we are together again.

I know a trip down “What If Lane” could be very dangerous. Well seems like the devil took me there and I have been there for some time now.

17 years ago, at the tender age of 15 there was a young girl who was smitten by an older boy; a boy like her dad; who stole her heart; who swept her off her feet; who caused her great happiness. One day she found out that there would be a little one. When her parents found out, they were furious and made the little one go away. This tore apart the girl and boy. With the help of her parents, they went their separate ways. Later that month, the results were in: it was a boy.

She went on to graduate high school just barely 18 years old and have Bubba. Working part time and going to college full time, that baby helped to fill a void at the time. Soon, that girl goes on to get married and have another baby. This time a girl Miss J. Thru painful trials and tribulation, the marriage ends after 5 1/2 years.

A mutual friend from a high school runs into her at work. Thru small talk, they discuss family, life after high school and well just plain life. A few months later, a letter arrives from superdaddy. With weak fingers and a fluttering heart, the letter is read. Said friend thinks Bubba is Angel baby from our relationship. He wants to talk. We get together and discuss family and life after relationship. He too has children; 3 beautiful girls to be exact. He too has been thru a painful relationship. Chatting and such led us back together and well, now there is another beautiful girl "Chicky". She will be 3 on Valentine’s day. The day for lovers. Coinsidence? I think not.

Why do I feel this way this time of year? A part of me is missing. I have 3 beautiful children and 3 beautiful step children and yet I yearn for Angel Baby. Perhaps it is because I only have 1 son. Perhaps it is because he only has daughters. Was his only chance to have a son lost 17 years ago?

Whatever the case may be, lately I am sad. Lately everything is off. Things will be off until I get out of “What If Lane”. Don’t get me wrong, we have been blessed beyond words; but lately my heart is heavy. I miss what could have been…
